Pondicherry University has jurisdiction over the Higher Education Institution in Lakshadweep Island and has granted affiliated to several colleges in the island. <strong>Empowering Access to Higher Education at Lakshadweep</strong> Introduced a three-year undergraduate and one-year diploma vocational programmes from the 2021-2022 academic session in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Pondicherry University granted affiliation to the following four Govt. colleges in Lakshadweep Islands <ul> <li style="list-style-type: none;"> <ul> <li>Lakshadweep Government College of Arts & Sciences, Kadmat Island & Androth Island.</li> <li>Lakshadweep Government Community College, Kavaratti Islands.</li> <li>Lakshadweep Government College of Teacher Education, Kavaratti Island.</li> <li>Lakshadweep Government Polytechnic College, Minicoy Island.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <span style="font-size: 16px;">The college at Kadmat was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice-President of India and the Chancellor of Pondicherry University Shri M Venkaiah Naidu on 01.01.2022 in the presence of Prof. Gurmeet </span>Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Pondicherry University. <strong>The following programs are offered</strong> <ul> <li>Three-year diploma programs in Marine, Electrical and Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering in Govt. Polytechnic College at Minicoy Island.</li> <li>Undergraduate programs and a one-year diploma programs in Catering and Hospitality in the Govt. Arts and Science College at Kadmat Island from 2021-2022.</li> </ul>
