Welcome!

The Department of Management Studies (DMS) has been Developing Managers for the Society since 1986. Being the first MBA programme of Pondicherry University, it has set the tone for management education in this part of the country and has carved out a niche for itself. Today DMS offers a classical MBA with dual functional specialization (Finance/HR/Marketing/Operations), a new-age MBA with specialization in Data Analytics, a part-time MBA for working executives and a doctoral research programme.

The faculty members in DMS are a heterogenous mix of unique skill sets, knowledge base and industry-relevant expertise. Many of them have industry work experience that helps to bridge the theory-practice gap in management education. Our 19-member faculty team volunteers to coordinate different activities of the department with student teams. Campus placements, Industry relations, Alumni relations, International relations, Media relations are just a sample among the many vibrant activities.

Several alumni from the 36 batches occupy the C-Suite in the industry and play significant roles for their organizations. Many of them have chartered their own successful paths as entrepreneurs and changemakers in the society. And some are respected teachers and researchers among management academia. Our alumni are actively involved in the affairs of the department and make a positive contribution.

 DMS students reflect rich diversity in terms of culture, educational and professional background. In a learning environment infused with creative positivity and contemporary pedagogy, the students grow in confidence, functional expertise, skill set and get themselves to be industry-ready. DMS believes in grooming them to be responsible citizens in the corporate world. At least 10 students in each batch get to do a semester abroad at our partner universities in France, Germany and Switzerland. Among them, many with full or partial scholarship. Campus placement opportunities abound for students who are willing, eligible and capable. The department takes active steps to build their capabilities.
